This stunning toque from the 1930s' consists of a round, indented top crown surrounded by a matching creme colored grosgrain band around the side. On top of the band there is a beige band of veiling. At one side there are two grosgrain streamers from which an array of beautiful greenish/gold and curly creme colored feathers project backwards and upwards.
A toque is small cap or bonnet having a narrow brim or no brim at all. Toques were popular from the 13th to the 16th century in Europe, especially France. The mode was revived in the 1930s.
There is no label, indicating it was a custom-made creation.
