Although I bought this coat in about the late 1980s, it is in beautiful condition because I rarely wore it as my work and social life became more casual. The coat is practical for all kinds of weather because it has a zip-out wool lining with a satin yoke at the top, and a button-on wool collar. The coat is a very long, below-the-knee length (51" from the base of the collar to the bottom of the hem) and It was roomy enough that I was able to wear it over a blazer. As far as I can tell, the most similar women's trench coat at the Burberry site seems to one of the several classic "heritage trench coats," which retail for about $2850-2950 without the wool lining. Burberry sells a separate plaid cashmere liner for $870). When the wool lining is zipped into the coat, it is remarkably cozy and warm for late fall or cold/rainy early spring days.
