During the 1960's the Illinois Moulding Company and Belart Inc. created the still life “Bull Fighter” solid walnut, wall plaques. They were embellished with melted plastic chips, commonly referred to as "popcorn". The pieces being offered here are a rare find. I have only seen the plastic popcorn embellishments in orange. The popcorn in these plaques is green with almost a turquoise/blue hue. The popcorn is all intact and not damaged. Please look carefully at the pictures, as they do have vintage wear. When hung on the wall, they are still stunning. The marks do not deter from their beauty. It appears to me that the marks and dust could be cleaned up very nicely. I am leaving them as is, so that I do not damage them. They have hangers on the back and have beveled edges and each piece has two bumpers. This three-piece retro modern Pop-Art wall plaque set was made circa 1960s in Mendota, Minnesota by Belart.
