Bristol glass is an opaque hand decorated glass. It describes a type of glass made in Bristol, England, in the eighteenth century. By the middle of the nineteenth century and into the early twentieth century, American and Continental glass manufacturers copied the glass, body shapes, and patterns. Bodies had a matte, the most common, or high gloss finish. The most prevalent body color is white. Examples also are known in a black , pastel blue (robin’s egg), soft green, and other colors. Bristol glass occasionally is cased with a white interior lining. Hand painted decoration follows that aesthetic preference of the era. Patterns were enhanced with coralene, enamel, enameled jewels, and gilding.
I believe the color of this vase is best described as a celadon green. It is beautiful.
