Banana Republic curio cashmere cardigan (medium, taupe)

Picture it: A frigid December day in Manhattan. Me in a cute dress coat that lacks warmth. The answer: this indulgent cashmere cardigan, which I found nestled on a shelf at the Banana Republic on Fifth Avenue and 50th Street. Initially put off by the $380 price tag, I decided to splurge. The cardigan served me well that blustery day and throughout my trip. However, for a variety of reasons, I rarely wore it after that, and sadly this piece no longer fits me well. IMO cardigans like this are great for situations where you’re not entirely sure what kind of temps you’ll have (eg, offices, movie theaters), because they're easy to slip on and off as conditions change. This one is nice because it features two front pockets where you can stash your hair ties, Starbucks card, or whatever small item you need when on the go. I also like the button closure in front. This sweater has a halo and a bit of pilling, since the fabric is so soft, as well as some creases from being folded up in a drawer. However, it hasn’t been worn much.
