BREATHTAKING 1950s' FUCHSIA/OLIVE GREEN WIDE BRIM HAT

This is truly a show stopper wide brim hate from the fashionable fifties! The hat is made of fuchsia and olive green felt.The crown is half fuchsia and half olive green felt. The brim is olive green on top, and fuchsia felt on the bottom. Around the front of the brim, in between the 2 layers there is a band of olive green felt with connecting alternating circles of each color. The brim is turned up at the back, where a bow made of both colors is attached. There is an elastic band attache dot the inside of the hat to help keep it in place. Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves. To preserve its market, the millinery industry set about creating variety and extravagance. They were now touted as the essential accessory to complete the ensemble. Alternatively, ‘pancake’, ‘platter’, ‘mushroom’ or ‘cart wheel’ hats sat flat atop the head reviving turn of the century styles. Label: KANERS' - 6331 DEL MAR ST.
