katiesiepierski @hollykaplan oh no I am so sorry to hear that! Can you still wear natural oils? Or is it just the synthetic fragrance additives? I know they can cross over a bit, like some synthetic fragrance agents like limonene and linalool can be found naturally occurring in natural things thpugh too

hollykaplan @katiesiepierski ...I am now using whisper from Doterra. I seem to tolerate it well. It may synthetic, I know I have a strong reaction to the ingredients in most cleaning products :(.

hollykaplan It may that my allergy is chemically based? Have you found that many perfumes have the compound you are sensitive to?

katiesiepierski @hollykaplan are you sensitive to any other products with fragrance in them like shampoos, conditioners, lotions etc? Sorry if I sound nosey, i am a cosmetic science educator so its in my nature to try and help lol. Have you seen an allergen specialist?

katiesiepierski Limonene, linalool, hexylcinnamal and a few others are really common allergens. It may be that you're sensitive to them in perfumes and laundry though because of the boosters in them, the equivalent of penetration enhancers like alcohols (drying, not fatty) in fragrances and the high concentrations of surfactants in laundry products. Even going through a waah cycle they can still remain and carry the compounds that carry the fragrance ingredients

katiesiepierski And would you be interested in separating the alfred sung and possibly a couple others? I am going to look them all up on fragrantica to see what their notes are. I am a huge lily if the valley/muguet fan, i also like Iris and tubereuse, typically in soft green scents or creamy/milky/powdery bases

hollykaplan @katiesiepierski ...yes absolute I can separate some out that you prefer:) I think it is a bigger systemic thing- autoimmune:( because I am now sensitive to foods as well. It is bit challenging coming from a girl who loves Italian food, rich perfumes and even animals. All of which cause some allergic reaction. I guess it could be a whole lot worse.... For the time being I try to eliminate "chemicals" or irritants . I do miss smelling fabulous though...a huge part of the fun of being a woman!
