Antique Japanese Satsuma moriage figural vase. - Japanese Satsuma moon flask vase featuring the moriage technique, a decorative style characterized by raised, three-dimensional slip or enamel. Depicts male figures in traditional clothing, in vivid colors with intensive pattern work. - Satsuma moriage are known for their off-white, finely crackled glaze and elaborate figural scenes. - Crafted in the early 1900s. Maker's mark on base, but it is difficult to make out. - Good overall condition for age. There is a small chip on the base on one side and a fine crack on the other. See photos for more detail. Measurements: 7 7/8" x 6 1/8" x 1 1/4"
