A stunning and rare pair of antique salt and pepper shakers by the renowned Gorham Mfg. Co., dating to the turn of the 20th century (c. 1890-1910). This set, pattern #3151, is a fantastic example of the elegant and nature-inspired Art Nouveau style.
Each shaker is masterfully designed in a two-piece figural style, with the top shaped like a lush cluster of grapes or blackberries that screws securely into an ornate, leafy base. The unique design adds a touch of Victorian or Art Nouveau charm to your table.
Condition: Good antique condition. The shakers have some wear, with minor surface tarnish and a lovely patina throughout, consistent with their age. One leaf shows small spots of silverplate loss. The bottoms and threads are intact with no major dents or cracks. The thread on one of the two shacker does stop and lock into place, but if you keep turning it with some pressure, it will continue to being unscrewed. Please see all photos for details.
