Antique Art Nouveau Glass Hair Receiver - Vanity Dresser Jar

This antique item is an Art Nouveau style glass vanity dresser jar, often referred to as a hair receiver due to the circular opening in its lid.  Key Characteristics Lid: Features an ornate repousse metal lid, typically made of silver plate or sterling silver (this piece is unmarked). Common designs from this era include florals, scrolls, and cherubs. This piece has florals and scrolls. Body: The jar is crafted from cut crystal or pressed glass, featuring intricate geometric or floral patterns. Purpose: Historically used on a Victorian or Edwardian dressing table to collect hair from brushes, which could later be used to create "hair rats" for padding hairstyles.
