Madewell - size 26 darted barrel jeans washed black

Took off tags, wore 2-3 times and washed. Really don’t love the jeans/fit on me. I thought I could get into the trendy low slung jeans but I do prefer higher waisted. Also they run a little short? I got regular length and it’s 100% cotton so they shrunk a bit after washing too. I’m only 5’2
