French Baroque Double Wall Hook

Antique French cast brass double hook. This is a vintage French brass coat double hook dating from the early 1950s. The hook is cast brass. The upper part of the curved hook has a 'sea horse' style head which leads down to the bottom part of the hook. This has a horizontal shaped bar which slopes downwards and is for hanging clothes, hats etc. The hook is fastened to a shaped cartouche back plate and this has two fixing holes on either side, to enable it to be fixed to the wall or door. The hook has decorative features such as acanthus leaf type designs. Made of polished cast brass.
