Single-owner Converse Chuck Taylor All Star high tops, purchased 1976-1977 Bicentennial era. These are not modern "Chuck 70" recreations; they are authentic. Rare Square-O Star Logo on the insole, which debuted in 1977, dating these perfectly to the post-Bicentennial transition. Proudly Made in USA with the classic blue insole branding. Iconic "Stars and Stripes" flag print w/ rare blue-and-white star internal heel lining, a detail unique to this specific production window. Heel Patch vintage white w/ red lettering & registered trademark (®) positioned directly below the center star. Condition Note: These have been in a single-family collection since the 70s. Canvas is sturdy with minor fading; Rubber is intact and flexible with no major cracking. These shoes are 50 years old, worn but in amazing condition. From a smoke free, no pet household. Dimensions: Gap from toe cap to first eyelet is 1.25", consistent with the era's specialized mold. Special Edition Marker: Red soles were never used on standard black or white Chucks; they were strictly reserved for limited "Special Projects" like the Bicentennial/Americana series. red rubber was more expensive to produce than standard brown, fewer pairs were made. Condition: Red soles are still flexible without cracks. Stance: High tops from the late 70s have a slightly more "sloped" and elegant heel shape than the modern versions. worn only annually for the Fourth of July. Ladies size 7 - marked size 5. Insole is clean.
