- Wholesome novel about a little orphan girl called Heidi, who goes to live in the Alps under her grandfather's care. Although made to work in Frankfurt, she dreams about returning to the mountains
- Per the book's title page, translated by Helen B. Dole, illustrated by William Sharp
- Beautiful, and painterly, color illustrations, interspersed with black etched drawings throughout
- Endpapers have a lovely mountain landscape painted in a watercolor effect, depicting Heidi, her friend [Peter], and the goats
- Hardcover has a textured feel, and brown and tan goat motif pattern. Top edge that makes up the text block, has a faint blue color. Spine is also illustrated with a goat on a turquoise background
- 326 pgs.; Copyright 1945; Library of Congress Card Number 45-37895; Published by Grosset & Dunlap, Inc.
- Wonderful book to gift a child who is really into reading, and loves nature, but this is a book truly for all ages
- Excellent vintage condition with just minor wear on both ends of spine. There is a tiny stain on the bottom textblock. Clean and crisp pages overall. Unsure if it had a dustjacket as this is how I have always had it
