1940s Whiting and Davis gold mesh evening bag with rhinestone clasp

Gorgeous 40s gold mesh evening bag by Whiting and Davis. It is very glittery and shiny, with the light reflecting off of all the small gold discs. The frame has an art deco shape and a lovely clasp with a large central oval shaped clear stone surrounded by smaller round cut rhinestones. It lifts up on a hinge. Even the links on the chain handle are decorated - with small curved carvings. It is lined with a peachy beige silk fabric. There is an open pocket on one side. Made in USA. Good condition. There is a little wear on the frame - surface scratches. The lining was repaired on one half of one side - reattached to the frame. It's overall a very lovely little bag.
