Finely detailed wooden Maori Tiki statue with incised tattoo designs throughout his face, arms, legs and back. Moko face, with incising throughout, hand-carved with paua (abalone) shell eyes. Teko Teko is a representation of a Maori tribal ancestor. Often seen in and around traditional meeting places in houses, this figure represents guardianship and protection.
