In 1910, J.C. McCoy and his son Nelson created the Nelson McCoy Sanitary Stoneware Company. Most of the products they created in the beginning were functional pieces, but later artisans focused their attention on producing umbrella stands, vases, jardinières, and pedestals, and other decorative pieces.
This piece in particular was created during the Mid-Century Modern movement, with its unique boho like basketweave pattern, and MCM clean lines. Excellent piece to add to your existing McCoy collection, ceramic decor, or all on its own. Great for serving, or even as a beautiful planter.
